  • Two separate routes, and this is the one to pick if you want to ride the saddle: try it for 14 days without paying the full amount. A straight purchase can only be sent back unused.
  • The trial carries a shipping and return fee, shown as an option at checkout.
  • Ride it on your own horse and send it back if the fit is wrong.
30-day returns · $7.95 label fee
  • You have 30 days from purchase to return an item.
  • It must be unused, in the same condition you received it, and in its original packaging. If you want to ride it first, take the 14-day trial above instead.
  • Return shipping is paid by the customer: $7.95 for the FedEx return label, deducted from your refund. Attach it and include the original invoice.

  • Every saddle is inspected - tree, billets, rigging, stitching and flocking - and repaired before it goes on sale.

The Bates Outback heritage is measured a like a traditional stock saddle – from the highest point of the pommel to the center of the cantle (inside cantle thickness). This saddle will fit differently that an English style saddle, and therefore the seat sizes cannot be accurately compared. Here’s a rough guide to convert stock saddles to English.

  • Medium = 15″ (approx. 17-17.5″ English)
  • Large = 16″ (approx. 17.5-18″ English)
  • X-Large=16.5” (approx. 18-18.5” English)
